VISION

To seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) by aligning human life in accordance with the principles laid down by Allah (SWT) and His Messenger (SAW).

HISTORY

YM Sisters Canada was previously known as Muslim Youth Network (MYN), and its name was officially changed in August 2023. The birth of YM Sisters is rooted in the conception of its parent organization, Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Canada. ICNA has its roots in America, where it was founded in late 1960s by a group of students within the Muslim Students Association (MSA). These students were involved in Islamic movements in their countries of origin. This organization had a far-reaching vision of working for Iqamat-ud-deen in the west. Since then, it has established itself in Canada, and spread its reach to all demographics. In late 1990s, a group of young Muslim girls gathered under ICNA Canada to focus their Da’wah efforts on other Muslim girls in the west, which is now a wing of ICNA Canada called Young Muslims (YM) Sisters. Currently, YM Sisters have active units in 18+ cities across Canada, and it continues to reach and empower Muslim girls across the country.

OBJECTIVES

1. To invite mankind to submit to the Creator by using all means of communication.

2. To motivate Muslims to perform their duty of being witnesses to mankind by their words and deeds.

3. To organize those who agree to work for this cause in the discipline of YM.

4. To offer education and training opportunities to increase Islamic knowledge, to enhance character, and to develop skills for all those who are associated with YM.

5. To oppose social evils and oppression in all forms, and support efforts for civil liberties and socio-economic justice in the Canadian and international community.

6. To strengthen the bond of humanity by serving all those in need in our community.

7. To collaborate with other organizations for the implementation of this plan and for unity amongst the Muslims.
